On behalf of Corporate Council on Africa, we are pleased to invite you to a High-Level Dialogue with Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) CEO Sean Cairncross as he discusses MCC priorities, and the opportunities and challenges for U.S. businesses in Africa.
MCC offers an innovative approach to U.S. foreign assistance and development. MCC's model is driven by country ownership and insists upon accountability and results, incentivizing policy and institutional reforms that work to unlock private sector dollars—with a focus on investment sustainability. Since its founding in 2004, MCC has initiated 37 compacts with 29 partner countries, primarily in infrastructure projects.
MCC is now able to enter into concurrent compacts, enabling qualified countries to develop more than one compact at a time in order to support cross-border projects that promote regional economic integration, trade, and collaboration. The newest country partnerships for MCC are a threshold program in Kenya and a compact program in Mozambique. With more than ten programs in active implementation, eight of which are in Africa, MCC is well positioned to help unleash the economic potential of African economies.
Given the limited capacity - we are only able to accommodate one (1) representative per company.
