This webinar will bring together a high-level panel comprised of U.S. Ambassador to the African Union (AU) Jessye Lapenn, AU Commissioner for Social Affairs Amira Elfadil, and head of the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) Dr. John Nkengasong to discuss the current and future predicted impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the African continent. The webinar will also address AU planning to support member states, how the Africa CDC is leading the continent's pandemic response, and U.S. government engagement on the response effort.
Florie Liser, President & CEO of CCA and Scott Eisner, President of the USAfBC will moderate this discussion, presenting ideas on how the U.S. and African governments, the private sector, and multilateral institutions can mobilize to address the health and economic impacts of the pandemic.
