Mr. Worku Gachou, Managing Director for Africa, Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) will highlight a range of products currently available to support U.S. companies in Africa, and spotlight the sectors OPIC is prioritizing. Mr. Gachou will also offer some preliminary thoughts on how the recently passed BUILD Act will transform OPIC's work. This Act was signed by the President on October 5, and will double OPIC's operating capital to $60 billion, while providing it with increased flexibilities for supporting investment.

During the fiscal year 2017, projects in Africa represented 27% of OPIC's current portfolio, with $6.1 billion in 128 active projects.
