During the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York, the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's U.S.- Africa Business Center (U.S.-AfBC) will host the U.S.-Africa Leadership Forum: Strengthening the Future of U.S. - Africa Trade and Investment, a high-level event focusing on the U.S.-Africa economic relationship and the important role that U.S. and African businesses can and do play in strengthening U.S.-Africa trade, investment, and commercial engagement. This dialogue takes place at a critical time when U.S. and African governments are exploring new approaches to improve their mutually beneficial economic relationship.

In December 2018, the Trump Administration rolled out its new "Prosper Africa" strategy, which offers substantial opportunities to harness private–sector led and demand driven approaches to significantly increase two-way trade and investment between the United States and Africa. At the same time, the entry into force of the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement creates new openings for unleashing business opportunities in Africa.

The forum offers a unique platform for business executives to provide valuable insights and to discuss with policy makers strategies to bolster the U.S.-Africa trade and investment relationship.
