Africa has the world's youngest population, predicted to double by 2045. The youth are urbanizing, they are becoming more tech savvy, they make up the bulk of a predicted $6.7 trillion African consumer market by 2030. What are their priorities, concerns and hopes for the future? How do they view technology, the job market, entrepreneurship and economic policies? What do they think about the United States and the world?
To find out, South Africa's Ichikowitz Family Foundation commissioned the largest-ever opinion survey of African youth, sampling from young people in 14 Sub-Saharan African countries: Congo Brazzaville, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Togo, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Founder and Executive Chairman of the Ichikowitz Family Foundation, Ivor Ichikowitz, will brief on the findings of this African Youth Survey for the first time – and the results paint a picture of emerging Afro-optimism.
